The High Commission of India, Dhaka is happy to announce that the Suborno Jayanti Scholarship and the Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship under the ICCR Scholarship Scheme have been announced for the Academic Year 2024–2025. This is to help deserving citizens of Bangladesh pursue a range of courses at the Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) levels in Indian Universities and Institutes, covering all fields except medicine, paramedical (nursing, physiotherapy, anesthesia, etc.), fashion, law, and integrated courses like BALLB (5 Years) or B.Sc. & M.Sc. (5 Years), etc.

Points to Noted
  • The age range for applicants to undergraduate and graduate programs is 18 to 40 years old, while the age limit for PhD programs is 50 years old. 
  • Candidates should not be suffering from any significant mental or physical conditions.
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are required for applicants to BE/B.Tech programs in grades 11 and 12 (SSC, HSC/O Level, A Level).
  • All students are required to reside in the on-campus dorms, if accommodations are available. There won't be any exceptions granted for family or medical needs that prevent you from remaining on campus.
  • Candidates will be able to submit applications to five universities or institutes in the order of their choice.
  • To determine English competence, a 500 word essay must be written in English. Students may also submit their results from standardized tests such as the TOFEL, IELTS, and others, provided they are accessible. If necessary, universities and other institutions may have online interviews with applicants.
  • Transcripts in English should be uploaded along with mark sheets for each school or college level, such as level 10 and the 10+2 equivalent. If the original documents are not in English, the applications will not be evaluated without their translation into English.
  • All recipients of the ICCR Scholarship are required to have a medical insurance coverage with a minimum insured sum of five lakh Indian Rupees per year. It should be noted that the ICCR reserves the right to change the terms of scholarships from time to time, and it is the responsibility of the students to comply with the updated guidelines.
  • Before submitting an application for admission, students can examine the courses offered, the eligibility requirements, and general information about the university or institute by visiting the relevant website.
  • The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) equivalency must be obtained by students, if necessary. In their letter of provisional confirmation for the applicant (posted on the A2A Portal), the relevant university or institute would specify this.
